Hello artists,

I thought I should introduce myself. Some of you may know me and others may not.

I'm Zaza, a.k.a. szaza or Samantha— but not Sam! I will be your friendly neighbourhood Exchange Moderator. What does this mean? From time to time I will be performing a pulse check to see how your progress is going. Do you need some encouragement? Do hoarders need hounding? I will also pull the plug if you feel your exchange needs to go gently into that good night. If you have issues that need resolving, I am here to help in any way I can— please don't hesitate to ask, even if it's a question about watercolour versus gouache!

Marty, your latest entry is fabulous. I must admit pigs frighten me a little and a 1450 lb hog is the stuff of my nightmares... So I must ask, where are the other Mollies? Can you guys help me out by telling me who has whose book?

This is such a colourful and fun group, I would like to see it in full swing again. Please leave a comment to this post with a list of which books each of you have.

Meet Reggie!

LEROY — Reggie is on his way to becoming even more famous.

For the past three years, Reggie has been the center of attention at the children's farmyard at the Mower County Fair.

His likeness also graces a poster found in the beer garden at the fair, advising patrons, "Don't be a hog, drink responsibly."

He's also been in an ad for Featherlite Trailers that proclaims, "Reggie rides anything … but he prefers Featherlite Trailers."

Now, he's on his way to making the record books. He and his caretaker, Peter Marx, drove up to the Minnesota State Fair on Wednesday, and Reggie took his place in the swine barn as the state's largest boar.

Not only is Reggie the largest boar for 2010, he's the largest boar in the state fair's record books. He weighs a whopping 1,450 pounds. That's almost as much as most adult horses.

The previous state record was set in 1994 by a boar that weighed 1,340 pounds, said Breanne Schuette, a state fair spokeswoman.

Reggie could be the first hog from Mower County to win the statewide competition, Schuette said. None of the state fair's records show a previous winner from Mower County.

"It is one of the things that is something of a tradition. People go down to the swine barn to see the biggest boar," said Schuette.

Each year, contenders for the title come from county extension directors, who notify the state fair if they've got a boar with the heft to compete. The boars have to be weighed on a state-certified scale before they can enter the contest.

Marx said keeping Reggie isn't much of a challenge. Reggie's diet consists of a five-gallon pail of corn and soybean meal each day. Marx said that's about 20 to 25 pounds of food. Reggie gets out for some daily exercise. Handling Reggie isn't that hard, but it's nearly impossible to force him to move. Marx uses gates and food to coax the porker into going where Marx wants him to go.

Reggie will come home after the state fair and will likely be back at the Mower County Fair Children's Farmyard next year. He will probably live out the rest of his life on the farm, Marx said.

Marx said Reggie's been in the running for the title a couple years before now, but was always bested by hogs that had more heft. Now, it's his turn.

Mower County Fair Secretary Neal Anderson said Reggie is like one of the family.

"It's exciting for the Mower County Fair," Anderson said. "This pig is a local celebrity, and now he gets time in the spotlight."

I hope everyone is doing ok... Just checking in again to see where books are at. I'll give everyone till the end of the week to give us an update and then start contact via flickr individually. I saw a while ago that dear executioner has finished Fatma's book.

What about all the other books.... Cavidanny and I are still waiting on books for this group.

Any (more) update?

I am just curious if this group is still activating? Or anyone who is still want to rotate may be just leave some replies here so that we can see how to continue this group.

Or Michael, does my book already sent to somebody else or otherwise only we 2 continue? I really have no idea how this group will be working :(

I am almost done with Calvin's moly. I will have a post of the finished artwork on tues.

Finally my angel drawing is done! The watercolor outcome
is not too bad though I find the flow of watercolor pigment
is somehow different from those watercolor paper :p

So I clear all the books in this group on hand, and I am waiting
for the up-coming books and drawings from other members ~

Cavidanny moly has arrived safe and sound in the USA!!! I will hopefully have it done within the next week and half while I am on vaction. I have some other moly's to get to first but I am aiming to finish this as well.
How is everyone else doing?

My drawing is done!

I make some color and text line art to my drawing and get it
finalized! Going to mail Michael today~

Hey guys, this is my first moly drawing!

For my drawing this time I try to use the theme "civilization"
to apply my line drawing to tell how time tells our history and
the monkey witness the whole process~ (I am cast as human
being :p)

I may still need some modification to complete this drawing.

My lovely moly covers

For my first moly cover I try to apply pastel as a media as it
seems no other cover using the skills, so I try to make some
fun with it~

The powder looks stands out enough yet it is too easy to
come off from the matted surface, finally I use some shiny
protective layer to cover it.

For the inner cover I use the cartoon drawing style which
is also one of my styles for cartoon series.

I leave some interactive area to you all to put your country
stamp here .. you see, we are living in same global village!
